Lately one thing I have taken a interesting in is reading, I think I always have been into reading but as an adult I didn't read for the longest time but I found a love for it and I really don't want to lose it again. I got really into booktok and that sparked my love for reading again. I was over taken by the overall vibes (before realizing all the drama that came along with it) Either way it was one of the first pieces of me (outside of music) that I found connecting to again. I keep trying to find more and more that can help me redicover who I am.

How My Love for Reading Began
One of the first books I remember reading as a child was cut by Patricia Mccormick ( https://amzn.to/44RKpK4 ) I went through a hard time as a child and I think this is one of the first times I felt like I could really escape into another world and get away from everything. I like the stories that can happen
Reading and my Life
Reading became a magical thing to me due to the amount of realites that are possible. When you are reading and it takes you to a different place you can live that. Really there is endless possibilities when it comes to the reality you can live when it comes to books.
When I was younger I struggled to go to sleep, I still do actually. The way I worked through this and help my mind was to play a story in my head. Without going to deep into the story its self it was about a teenager named Jacob and his life. Reading kind of gives me the same effect its a whole different reality I can get into and escape everyday life.
Well, you see after becoming a mother to three children I kind of lost my way. Well, thanks to the new reading obsession going all over the internet, I decided to pick it up again.
Important Books to Me
Some books stand out because they shifted how I think or feel. Here are a few that made a deep impression:
1. Lights Out by Navessa Allen
This was one of the books I picked up after starting to read again, I thought it was pretty interesting and I wanted to read more. I will say this is number one on this list but I don't think it was my absoulute favorite. It was a good read though. I would say probably a good 3.5/5.
This also hold a special place in my heart because I read it right before the name was spread everywhere and I felt so AWESOME because I had already read it.
2. The Edge of Darkness Trilogy by Leigh Rivers
This trilogy is AMAZING. I loved this story, I picked up Insatiable (This first book in the trilogy) and had to keep reading. I could not put it down. I would say this is one I was so sad when it ended. I think the beginning of the trilogy was a lot better and maybe calmed down as it went on but I would still like to reread it again and again.
3. Identical by Ellen Hopkins
Now look, I LOVE Ellen Hopkins. I remember I first picked up this book while in a Walmart browsing as my parent were doing whatever they were doing. I saw this book, thought it looked good, just tried to skim it to see if it was a good read and from there I was hooked. I did not want to put the book down, of course they couldn't afford to buy it for me so I had to wait to go to the library to find the book. Of course I had to start reading anything I could find from Ellen Hopkins after that. I think after reading her books I really started to develop a love for writing and poetry.
